Home Learning (homework)

We know that children achieve well when they are supported with their learning at home.  We encourage our families to broaden their children's education by taking them out on trips and visits to museums, galleries, parks, sporting activities, and so on.  Reading with your child every day is essential to improve decoding (word reading) and comprehension skills as well as to develop a love of literature.

Every class sets homework each week, and we expect all children to complete this.  Homework will usually include reading, practising spellings, some maths and a half-termly project linked to the current topic that the class are studying.  Children are given a Home Learning Journal in which to record their homework and they should bring this, along with their reading book, to school every day.
